Kranjska Gora
Kranjska Gora is one of Slovenia’s most popular alpine resorts, attracting visitors throughout the year. In winter it is known for skiing, while in summer it offers hiking, cycling and relaxing in beautiful mountain landscapes.
We will visit the picturesque Lake Jasna, famous for its crystal-clear water and spectacular views of the Julian Alps. A scenic walking path with small bridges surrounds the lake.
Vršič Pass
The journey continues along one of the most scenic mountain roads in Slovenia to Vršič Pass (1611 m), the highest mountain pass in the country. The road climbs through 50 famous hairpin turns, offering breathtaking views of alpine peaks.
On the way we stop at the historic Russian Chapel, a symbol of friendship between Slovenia and Russia. The wooden chapel of St. Vladimir was built in 1916 by Russian prisoners of war in memory of those who died in an avalanche during the construction of the road.
Zelenci Nature Reserve
After descending into the valley we visit Zelenci Nature Reserve, a unique natural area with emerald-green springs that form the source of the Sava Dolinka River. The reserve is home to many rare plant and animal species.
Planica
The tour ends in Planica, the world-famous valley of ski jumping. Every year it hosts the Ski Jumping World Cup and has witnessed numerous world records.
The modern Planica Nordic Centre offers activities throughout the year – including a popular zipline in summer and cross-country skiing in winter.
